The captivating gaze of Moses
Our morning began with a visit to the historic Basilica of Saint Peter in Chains. Stepping inside, I was immediately captivated by Michelangelo's powerful Moses statue. Its intricate details and profound emotion made it my favorite statue of the trip, a true highlight of our day's cultural exploration.

Exploring the ancient Colosseum's heights
Next, we delved into the heart of ancient Rome with a fascinating tour of the Colosseum. Exploring its upper portions gave us a unique perspective on this iconic amphitheater. Walking where gladiators once stood, we imagined the grand spectacles that unfolded within its colossal walls, a truly inspiring experience.

Rome's 'wedding cake' and incredible views
Our day concluded with a visit to the monumental Victor Emmanuel II Monument. It does indeed look like a white wedding cake, as I had heard! Riding the elevator to the top, we were rewarded with incredible views of Rome, a truly breathtaking panorama that offered a perfect end to a day filled with exploration and awe across the city.
